Travel Insurance FAQs
  • Trip cancellation is for when you can’t go on a trip and you have to cancel before departure.  You purchase a limit to cover the non-refundable portion of the trip.  This coverage will not apply when there is a known event such as the COVID pandemic that we dealt with.
  • All applicants over the age of 60 will have to complete a short medical questionnaire depending on the length of their trip.
  • Anyone over the age of 60 years old may have to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire is simple and straight forward, helps gather information with regards to any medical conditions that you might have.

  • That’s great that you have your provincial health plan.  Without that you wouldn’t be able to purchase travel insurance coverage.
  • Your provincial plan here in BC for example only pays $75 (CAD) a day for emergency in-patient care at a hospital. The average cost in the US exceeds $1000 per day but can be as high as $10,000 (US) a day when in intensive care.

  • It’s best to look at purchasing a Multi Trip Plan on an annual basis when you are taking at least two trips per year.
  • If you’re a frequent cross-border shopper. If you randomly book trips during the year, then you risk leaving the province without coverage as travel insurance might not be top of mind.

  • Yes, we have policies that will cover you regardless of your health conditions and your age.  In some cases, the medical can even be covered under the plan, depending the severity.
  • All the companies that we work with have personnel that are available to assist you 24/7 and in various languages.
